About Us
In Trusting Hands was born from a mother’s love, experience, and determination.
My name is Susan, and I’m a proud mom to a beautiful young woman with autism. My daughter, now 22, has been my greatest teacher and inspiration. Our journey through the world of autism began when she was just a little girl—and like many families, we faced our share of challenges, uncertainties, and learning curves. Through those experiences, I discovered my passion for helping others navigate the path of raising a child with autism.
In 2011, I began offering playgroups for children on the spectrum, creating a safe, joyful space for connection and development. Not long after, I found myself supporting families at IEP meetings, helping them understand their rights and advocate for their children’s unique needs. These efforts naturally grew into monthly parent meetings, where families could come together, share their stories, support one another, and find strength in community.
Over the years, I’ve met countless families with similar stories—stories of love, hope, resilience, and advocacy. Each one has added to the mission and purpose behind In Trusting Hands.
Today, we proudly offer respite care services for families of children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our certified caregivers are compassionate, background-checked, CPR and first aid certified, and bring at least one year of experience in direct support. We understand firsthand how essential it is for parents to have a break, knowing their child is in safe, capable, and loving hands.
At In Trusting Hands, we believe every family deserves support, and every child deserves to thrive. Whether you’re looking for a moment of rest, a space to connect, or someone who truly understands—you’ve found a place where your journey is honored, and your family is valued.
Welcome to In Trusting Hands. We’re glad you’re here.
